Europiella artemisiae Family: Miridae Europiella species are small pale greyish-brown bugs which are covered in pale hairs. The base of the cuneus is pale and the tibial spines are set in black spots. They are distinguished from small Psallus species by the black 1st antennal segment. There are two very similiar species which cannot be reliably separated without reference to the genitalia, although E. decolor is generally paler than E. artemisae. However, E. artemisiae is found commonly across the UK on mugwort, while E. decolor is a local species associated with sea wormwood in saltmarshes. Adult: June-October Length ~3.0 mm
