Acalypta carinata Family: Tingidae Acalytpa species are very small lacebugs associated with moss. They are usually brachypterous, appearing rather oval in shape. The 4th antennal segment is wider than the 3rd and the head bears two frontal processes (small projections arising between the antennae). A. carinata has three keels on the pronotum but the 3rd antennal segment is not thickened at the base. The marginal areas of the forewings have two rows of meshes along their entire length and the head has long, pointed frontal processes. Local throughout Britain, in moss on rotting logs.
