Cicadula
saturata Family: Cicadellidae Cicadula is a large and difficult genus of yellow-green leafhoppers, frequently with black spots on the vertex and rather long antennae. Dissection of males is often required for definitive identication. C. saturata is among the more distinctive species, with an intense orange-yellow colouring (especially on the face), and no dark edge to the anteclypeus. The black spots on the vertex are roughly the same size as those on the face/vertex margin. Found locally in marshy places across eastern and central England, and parts of eastern Scotland. Adult: June to August Length 4-5.5 mm |
