Dryodurgades antoniae Family: Cicadellidae A very striking leafhopper which has rather a short, broad vertex (recalling Idiocerus) but is actually a member of the Agallinae. The combination of the dark clavus, broad dark stripes on the pronotum and face markings should make this species unmistakeable. Note the dark lateral stripes adjacent to the eyes. This species is associated with broom and is a very recent colonist. It was found at two sites in Essex during 2008 and 2009. Adult: August-September? Length 4.5-5.0 mm |
