Eupteryx tenella
Family: Cicadellidae

A small Eupteryx species in which the patterning is distinctive. The three dark spots on the vertex, basal triangles on the scutellum, and dark streaks on the forewings are enough to distinguish it from all other species (although beware dark specimens of Zyginidia scutellaris).

Restricted to yarrow, on which it is locally distributed as far north as Yorkshire, with scattered populations in Wales.

Adult: May to October
Length 2.5-3 mm
