Eupteryx vittata
Family: Cicadellidae

An extremely distinctive leafhopper, which can only be confused with the smaller E. notata. The two species can only otherwise be separated by the presence of long spines on the sides of the anal tube in males of E. vittata.  There tend to be differences in the patterning also, but these are limited and the range of variation overlaps.

Found on a wide range of flowering plants, often in meadows and open woods, including Ranunculus, Glechoma, Mentha and Plantago. Prefers damp conditions, and reasonably common in the UK.
