Forcipata
cf.
citrinella Family: Cicadellidae Forcipata is a small dikraneurinid genus of two species, similar in appearance to male Notus flavipennis. It is separated by the long, curved, genital plates in males, and the trilobed seventh abdominal sternite in females. F. citrinella has very long, widely separated male genital plates, with two sharp spines at the apex, whereas in F. forcipata the plates are shorter (barely longer than the preceding sternite) and the spines blunter. The middle lobe of the female seventh sternite is longer than wide. A widespread and common species on Carex species and various grasses, in damp places across Britain. Adult: June to September Length 3.0-3.6 mm |
