Idiodonus cruentatus
Family: Cicadellidae

A very distinctive leafhopper in which the vetex, pronotum and forewings are yellowish and covered in red dots. On the forewings these extend as far as the apical cells and are particularly clustered along the veins.

Widespread but local in Britain, associated with heather and other woody plants on heathland.

Adult: June to September
Length: 4.0 - 5.5 mm
