aurita Family: Cicadellidae A very large and unmistakeable grey leafhopper with ear-like projections on the pronotum, it is the only member of the Ledrinae to occur in Europe. Rarely seen due to its excellent camouflage, it is found locally across southern britain on lichen-covered trees, particularly oaks. This species can stridulate quite loudly. Adult: May-September Length 13-18 mm |
