Macropsis impura
Family: Cicadellidae

Macropsis is a large and complex group of species which are
often difficult to identify. The genus is distinguished by the striations on the pronotum which run diagonally from the corners to the centre of the front margin (parallel to the hind margin in Oncopsis).

M. impura has unmarked brownish wings with veins the same colour as the membrane, and the face has several dark spots of somewhat variable extent. The posterior part of the pronotum is greyish or dark, and there are at least a pair of dark elliptical spots near the anterior margin.

Found locally across the UK on creeping willow
Salix repens.
