Macropsis
scotti Family: Cicadellidae Macropsis is a large and complex group of species which are often difficult to identify. The genus is distinguished by the striations on the pronotum which run diagonally from the corners to the centre of the front margin (parallel to the hind margin in Oncopsis). In this species, the wing veins are dark brown and the inner margin of the clavus is dark. The dark markings on the face are not particularly extensive; the central mark (when present) is formed of two close streaks, rather than a large spot. Found as far north as Yorkshire, feeding on brambles, as in M. fuscula. Adult: May to October Length 5 mm |
