Pediopsis tiliae
Family: Cicadellidae

A very striking leafhopper which is easily recognisable by the colouring of the dorsal surface, and the absence of facial markings. Although some species of Macropsis or Oncopsis can look superficially similar, the combination of the plain yellow face and brown wings is distinctive. The vertex is barely visible from above.

Scarce but widely distributed in southern Britain, associated with lime trees (Tilia), particularly small-leaved lime.

Adult: June to September
Length 5-6 mm
