Dicranotropis divergens
Family: Delphacidae

The two UK Dicranotropis species share a relatively low form on the frons, leading to the keels of the vertex being parallel and evenly separated.

D. divergens females are separated from the common and widespread D. hamata by the lower fork on the frons, which is about half-way up. Males lack the distinctively enlarged genital segment, and so are easily identified.

A scarce, montane species found in wet upland grassland. Restricted to Scotland.

Adult: May to September
Length 2.0-3.5 mm (macropters ~ 4.0 mm)
