Struebingianella
lugubrina Family: Delphacidae Struebingianella is a small genus of delphacids defined largely by the features of the genitalia. S. lugubrina males are distinctively coloured, with almost entirely dark forewings which have a pale border and inner angle. The apex of the abdomen is pale, contrastng with the dark genital segment, which is also broad relative to its height. The frons is entirely pale in both male and female. Females are almost entirely yellow-brown. Macropters occur rarely. Locally common in marshy places with Glyceria; at least southern Britain, and apparently expanding. Adult: February to October. Length 2.5-3 mm |
