Emblethis griseus
Family: Lygaeidae

Emblethis are straw-coloured ground bugs covered in dark punctures. They have strongly keeled margins to the pronotum and are rather oval in shape.

E. griseus is distinguished from the very similar E. denticollis by the longer 1st segment of the hind tarsus, which is 2x the combined length of the 2nd and 3rd segment. E. griseus is also less elongate and more sub-oval in shape.

A very scarce species known only from single sites in Kent and Cornwall on the British mainland, where it is confined to coastal sand dunes and associated with common storksbill Erodium cicutarium.
